Footpath 4 runs from the Blackmore road, north-east of Deal Tree Farm, in a mostly south-easterly direction to the northern end of The Gardens estate road.
The entrance can be a little hard to see due to a car parked on the adjacent frontage of Wayside Aquatics. The path offers pleasant views to east and west, passing initially down a hedgerow which contains a large warren, before going down behind the houses at the top of The Gardens.
The path finally turns left on a very narrow section between fences before emerging into The Gardens.
