Doddinghurst has many lively organisations, including several dance groups, six art or craft societies, a card group and a busy horticultural society. There are several pre-school groups, and sports clubs for folk interested in badminton, squash, tennis, football, tai-chi and yoga. We also have Guides, Cubs and Scouts, Rangers, Brownies, Rainbows and Beavers. Doddinghurst residents also attend, amongst others, clubs in Brentwood that help folk learn about computers and about making home video films. Contact and other information about these is in the Clubs, Sports, Organisations section of this website. There are three active Christian organisations - Catholic at St Margaret's church, and Church of England who share All Saints Parish church with the Farmlands Methodist group.
There is an active Neigbourhood Watch group, whose web pages lead to a host of information about Neighbourhood Watch and its links with Essex Police. The Junior school has an active Junior Neighbourhood Watch section, too.
The Footpaths link gives details including small maps of all the footpaths within the Parish boundary and help you to find some pleasant walks.
The Parish Council work hard to try to make Doddinghurst as pleasant a place as possible. Some informal and unapproved notes of a recent meeting are here. Their main calendar of meetings is here. The Council also run the Village Bus Service (where residents share the cost of a minibus to run trips to various local places of interest) and organise the annual Fun Day. Bus trips are open to all and are advertised in The Link magazine.
Coach trips further afield are run by the Friends of All Saints who not only run some excellent trips but have made major contributions to the cost of repairs to All Saints Church and to the adjacent and very quaint Priest's House. The latter is leased from the Church and used for public meetings, supplementing the capacity of the Village Hall.
The Useful Links link gives a host of useful links and some telephone numbers to local and national organisations, including the websites of our three church organisations. The Traders link gives details of local businesses who provide services to the village and advertise in The Link magazine.
